Foreign Direct Investment International Arbitration Moot

The FDI Moot simulates an investor-‐state arbitration. Each year,  the moot centers around a claim by a private investor against a sovereign state for an alleged violation of a Bilateral Investment Treaty (“BIT”) between the two states. The hearing takes the form of arbitration conducted in accordance with the procedural rules of an established international arbitration institution.

The FDI moot is organized by The Center for International Legal Studies, an Austrian NGO who is tasked with promoting legal knowledge within the international legal community. Legal professionals and law students from around the world have been participating in the FDI moot since 2008.
